SurfaGuard RCS

Converter & Rust Stabilizer. Vinyl / Acrylic primer for application on rusty surfaces, water based

One-component, water-based primer applied to rusty surfaces to convert iron oxides to inert and stable compounds. SurfaGuard RCS is a vinyl / acrylic primer that can be applied directly to an iron or iron alloy surface to convert iron oxides (rust) into a protective chemical barrier.

Reacts chemically with rust, especially with iron oxide (III), creating a slightly black coating resistant to moisture, thus inactivating the surface and making it stable and tinted.

Prevents the emergence of rust on the treated and painted surface. Once SurfaGuard RCS is applied and cured, the surface is compatible with any acrylic, epoxy or polyurethane paint.

SurfaGuard RCS is applied to rusty substrates, which are difficult to prepare by the sandblasting process or with power tools, such as ship decks, rusty painted surfaces, vehicles, trailers, fences, iron railings, sheets and external storage tank surfaces.

It can also be used to restore and preserve iron objects of historical importance. Ideal composition for eliminating the disintegration of the final coatings due to the corrosion of the substrate by rust. Stabilizes the rusty substrate by converting rust to inert compounds and prevents the autocatalytic effect of corrosion growth.

Features

  • Converts iron oxides into inert and stable compounds, inactivating rust.
  • Applies directly to rust and prevents it from emerging on the final painted surface.
  • Once cured, the surface is compatible with all acrylic, epoxy, polyurethane paints.

Surfaces
Carbon steel, cast iron, galvanized or stainless steel, aluminum alloys & amp; zinc, steel reinforced concrete.

Application Tip:
Leave the material to act for 30 – 40 minutes, until a slightly black coating is created
